About Subject background: The wide angle/minimum DOF view of the eternal fight nature against human.

PS concept: small cropping, channel mixer layer to give the image a desaturated/IR style look. the strange/dramatic look of some leaves comes from the color channel treatment (green goes over into blue).

As always: Honest feedback highly appreciated.

Thanks to Fadel for his useful tipps on the channel mixer.

Hi Thilo,

eine ganz besondere Komposition, ich mag das Größenverhältnis der Natur über den Mensch, denn selbiger im Allgemeinen meint ja eher die Natur zu beherrschen.

Auch der irreale Eindruck der Farben passt hervorragend.

Tolles Gesamtwerk!!

Liebe Grüße
Verena

Hi Thilo,
i very like the composition here, also the effects enpowers the composition,, congrats
by the way, i would like to learn your IR process, i have tried a couple of methods but i wasn't satisfied with the results i got,, do you use a special plug-in or filter or a series of steps or actions in PS?
Cheers
Baki

Hi Baki,

in this case, I used a channel mixer layer. just check the monochrome box and set e.g. red +60%, green +40%, and blue -40% (you can play around with these settings). then use "hard light" for the blend mode. alternatively, you can duplicate the background layer, convert in into grey scales and blend it again with hard light.

I made some IR PS picture in my portfolio with a special IR filter from the NikeFX Pro filter collection. they use high contrasts to achieve an IR like effect.

hope that helped ;-)
