About No sunset filters, no polarizor, no neutral density grads... just lens to film. While I have no problems whatsoever using any or all of these filters to capture an image, I can also appreciate a scene untouched. Converted to B&W. I used a tripod and cable release for this 25 second or so exposure. All comments/opinions are greatly appreciated. Aloha.

I like this a lot - there seem to have been quite a few similar images recently but I think this one works extremely well, especially in B&W, with the threatening clouds balancing the rocks.

Look up the word BEAUTY in the dictionary and you'll see this picture next to it.
I'm at a loss for words to describe just how beautiful I find this
So I'll simply say I'm puttin this one into my favs

Really miss Kauai, hope I can get back there and stay longer then a week, thats just not enough time for a place that beautiful.
Jim Gamble

Post Script: Excellent choice here, making this black and white, dont know if you ever have worked with it before, but if you havent, you should consider working with it, just a thought.

Spectacular! I can envision this as one of the early days of earth; the seventh day, maybe. It's so serene, as if all is well.

Gerry Pacher   {K:7303} 12/14/2004
Dear Vincent, I love Kauai and your long shutterspeed composition is fantastic. Really wonderful - these grey tones are incredible.

Regards, Gerry

PS: where did you capture this scene?

Kim Culbert   {K:37013} 12/14/2004
Both portions of this scene demand the same amount of attention and give equally to the beauty of this shot. The sky has such a turbulent, stormy atmosphere with just enough motion (or what seems to be motion)to make me feel like I am there.
Love the effect that time has on the waves and rocks... another winner from you!

A simply wonderful image, I prefer it to any of your colour work! As Jim Gamble suggests, maybe you should consider doing more B+W.
