About I never thought I would consider one of my florals for the best photo I have taken as I find them to be most difficult but maybe that is why. It took a lot of positioning to get the light just right. It is natural morning summer sunlight but I had to hold on to the stem without breaking it and bend it this way and that so that it would appear to be lit from within.

Very elegant and graceful image, Christine, and beutifully lit! The dappled light adds wonderful depth and molding to the petals, and makes for a nice, romantic mood. The composition is really good and somewhat unusual - I think it creates a great dynamic element in this static composition, sweeping the viewer off from right to left and down the stem of the flower. Very nice indeed, my friend!

Oh yes Ms Skinner! Loved the original, and love your re-post. This is/was a great image and I am not surprised that you class it as one of your greatest works.
Congrats.

PS : I am so very sorry that Max is now on injections - he enters my thoughts often and like you I was hoping for steady recovery. Let's hope this is just a temporary set-back. (((HUGS)))

Hi Christine, and a Merry Christmas to you.
Once upon a time, I followed your portfolio but got lost along the way. Now due to your kind comment on my M&Ms, I have found my way back. I have added you to my friends list so I will not stray again. Your choice for your best of 2004 is a superb one. As I looked back through your portfolio, I know the choice was a difficult one. You have some wonderful photographs from which to choose.

I remember this one too and it's an excellent choice for your best. I love those very soft subtle pinkish tones you left in there. This would be a winner in any contest.

My, my......you ARE a perfectionist, aren't you?? No surprise that this is so terrific. The paper-thin petals are exhibited by the light, in exceptional detail. The dark tones contrast brilliantly with the illuminated petals. I would be very proud, had I taken this... Happy holidays, Christine! Hope Santa was good to you. ..Brad
