Everything about this image pulls me to it.
Fabulous colors, excellent detail and the composition is amazing.
You really got the focal right, the plants and flowers are very sharp and the rocks and water are also.
I'm sorry because I don't have the word to describe to you just how much I like this....Lets put it this way...Going to my favorites and I hope you don't mind me putting it to my desk top wallpaper....going to replace a moose for a while.

Yeah? Well, it's 39? in Bakersfield and I'm freezing! This is a spectacular image. Is it a composite? It doesn't matter, I like it for the bright red subject and the action-packed background that shows the plant in context.

That's OK Lori, I am where it is warm but I know lots are not. When I saw this thumbnail I knew that it was a great picture. This is wonderful, the bloom in the foreground contrasts nicely with the breaking waves in the background. You have it all well in focus. Great work Lori. Don.

You did, indeed, raining all day and very grey, miserable weather here, how I miss California. well, lots of time at the computer, no inclination at all to step outside even for having a drink in the pub. Bautiful shot, like the clear colours and good DOF from front to back and the dramatic waves - so you have got a little wind you did not mention ,... he? Only thing I would see to improve this is stepping a little to the left, so the Agave (?) flower would move to the right side of the frame. Otherwise great. Actually, this is one photo, no gimicky stuff this time. I seem to always be here when nothing is blooming, so I got a pleasant surprise, took quite a few (naturally) but I liked the water best in this one.

YEs, I tried several angles, and naturally the one where I liked the better placement of the blossoms the water didn't have the 'punch' that this one does.... :( oh well...
