Thanks for the comments. Would you believe this is simple bounce flash (550EX) off a creamy white ceiling? The quality of the lighting actually surprised me. Sometimes, simple is good!

What an excellent portrait, Lou!
It's both soft and yet sharp where it needs to be sharp, like in the sweater. Good choice of letting the flash bounce against the ceiling.
