About This was taken on our last day at the beach this summer. The sun was setting. I had my Casio with me, as I hesitate to use the Nikon when we're running around on the beach.

Fabrice Gourbilleau   {K:53288} 12/23/2004

Dina Marie   {K:9657} 12/23/2004
Another beauty - again, i see it with some toning to richen it up a bit.... maybe it's just me.. hope you don't mind :) -- see below... lovely work girl!

Happy New Year, drilan

Antonia BauerleinSehnert   {K:30027} 12/23/2004
Dina, thanks for your comment, and the great suggestion! It looks fantastic in the sepia! I think that's the direction I may go for framing, as this one is going to go up on my wall. T.

Dina Marie   {K:9657} 12/23/2004
Toni, that will make a great grouping for your wall :-)

Fadel J   {K:13605} 12/24/2004
Wonderful composition and tones! The waves add a lot of power to the image.

Pat Ziegler   {K:21575} 12/24/2004

Shoot Mike   {K:3426} 12/28/2004
GREAT SHOT! I love this. I like the B&W better than the sepia. Either way it's a wall hanger.

Mike

Saintz Saintz2   {K:10926} 12/29/2004
Bellissima foto ..!!

Grazie! T.

AJ Miller   {K:45020} 12/30/2004
After so many positive comments, I have to object to your inclusion of kites in this image (I'm a windsurfer and we always like to have a go at the trayboys...)

Seriously, it's a great image - I can feel the power of the waves, and even the gulls are looking nervous.(Just remove the kites before you put it on the wall...!)

AJ

Antonia BauerleinSehnert   {K:30027} 12/30/2004
AJ, thanks for the nice remarks. I take it the kites interfere with your windsurfing (a great sport for its skill, thrill and physical conditioning). As a hangglider pilot I am familiar with territorial issues, as the paragliders used to annoy us when they shared our sites. But things are now much more harmonious since hangglider pilots have discovered the virtues of paragliding: one can launch in much broader conditions and have a wider range of available sites. Though I don't suppose there's any parallel to this between the windsurfers and kiters...lol. T.

Khaled Mursi Hammoud   {K:52411} 12/30/2004
Wonderful beach shot Toni.
I like the light reflection on the sea and the wet sand.
Excellent contrast too.
Good job, regards,
Khaled.

AJ Miller   {K:45020} 12/31/2004
That's actually quite amusing - I took up windsurfing as a safer alternative after a bad accident hang-gliding in the UK! I tried kiteing last year, and broke my collar bone on my second lesson... Maybe I should stick to photography.

AJ

PS. You must have some fantastic aerial pics.

Antonia BauerleinSehnert   {K:30027} 12/31/2004
Wow! You are the first one I've met here. I'm sorry about your collar bone. I've never mounted a camera to my wing (and that's the only way we take pics around here), because I never trusted myself to land without ruining the camera. I do have some great film of a flight I took in an ultralight in Kauai. It was tandem with a movie camera mounted on the wing and I shot with my still when I wasn't flying (we took turns). Otherwise, my pics are of other pilots and usually it's from launch or the vantage point of the landing zone. I don't take my camera because it has to be left behind with the drivers and it's valuable. I have a few great ones that people took of me. Did you take many?

Antonia BauerleinSehnert   {K:30027} 12/31/2004
P.S. I crashed on my first solo...quite a story. And I'm grounded at the moment due to lack of hours and the safety issues there.

Antonia BauerleinSehnert   {K:30027} 12/31/2004
Glad you like it Khaled as it's one of my favorites. And thank you kindly for your comments on the others. :) T.
