I am glad I viewed the second page of images in the photo-critique section, for if I had not, I would have passed this wonderful portrait right by.
This is fantastic Carina, you have captured the true essence of this character without stressing your technique. In terms of composition, your image is strangely flawless. I think one of things that sets a photographer apart from a photographic artist is this. You create such a feeling of depth in this image, I want to be a part of it, and that is not an easy thing to achieve.
On a more critical note, there is one tiny thing which does distract me - the minute strand of hair below your subjects' right eye. Other than this, I love this, it draws my attention with a pair of incredible eyes, and keeps my attention with fantastic photography.

What I think is that children for me are seen as beautiful,expressive, etc. but "sensual" or "veryyyyyyyyyyy sensual" as you wrote , is an expression i could use only for an adult because it has to do with "sexual expression" , or look it up in a diccionary..

The subject of this picture does. It's an eleven year old girl. Not even a teenager yet.
This is very dangerous and dodgy ground, to find it "sensual", defined as:
a. Of, relating to, given to, or providing gratification of the physical and especially the sexual appetites.
b. Suggesting sexuality; voluptuous.
c. Physical rather than spiritual or intellectual.
d. Lacking in moral or spiritual interests; worldly.
Just suggesting word choices are very important.

I must say I do not find this look sensual and agree with peoples comments on children being sensual. Perhaps it is not used in the ture meaning of the word. I have commented on another image on US and said the model had an innocently sensual look. I don't think saying a child has a sensual expression immediatly implies the person commenting has a sexual feeling towards her. I meant it as defining an expression. I would be so sorry if someone misunderstood it and I would hope the other person who commented on this picture feels the same. Maybe english not a first language? Anway I love this capture. Very direct gaze right into the camera. Great stuff.

Yes, Stefan, my friend. Thanks for your tribute to fiber. I, too, am familiar with fiber papers (Kodak, Ilford, etc).
I printed for years in my own darkroom anywhere from 35mm to 8x10 negatives for my clients, so no one likes going in the darkroom better than I.
But the computer is the darkroom of the future - currently I am quite please with my 2200 - but soon there will be the Epson 2400, providing superior results for Black and White printing.
By the way, I guess you did not realize that Epson Velvet Fine is actually fiber paper, - 100% rag, which is why we were so happy to find it.
Just a friendly recommendation to Carina from someone who appreciates both film and digital.
