John Strazza   {K:12035} 12/28/2004
superb Jeanette - excellent

emily savva   {K:21113} 12/28/2004
oh...another masterpiece!!! beautiful textures mix with rich tones and a creative selection of negatives forming a breathtaking result... love the smoothness with which the human form blends with the background... like a nymph of the tree making herself apparent but at the same time she is hiding from the untrained eyes... only through the eyes of the imagination can one see her as a whole... so much natural energy is flowing from her... her inviting hands... i absolute adore this kind of work... yet another fav from you dear Jeanette... should i wait for "He" as well???? my sincere congrats... emy :)

PS: should i ask for a favour??? whenever you find some spare time, could you mail me (or write on the site... whichever is easier for you...)how you exposed the paper multiple times without the negatives being sandwiched (and the whole image turn black as well)??? i would really like to find out more about this technique... certainly the results are exquisite... thanks (and sorry for taking up so much space ).... lol...

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59907} 12/28/2004
Emy! Fist of all - I?m so glad you like this technique and the result. Of course i can tell you how i did it. If you give me your e-mail describe it for. It would take a lot of space....and Emy, YOU can take how much space you like! :) :) :)

Jeanette

Jeanette

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59907} 12/28/2004
Thanks Tugce! Yes - if I should post this kind of images everyday, all the time, I had to live in the darkroom...It takes a lot of energy, but of course it gives a lot - I?m almsot like in transe when I?m working with it, totally absorbed!

:)

Jeanette

emily savva   {K:21113} 12/28/2004

Omar Rifaat   {K:10135} 12/30/2004
Another masterpiece! I see amidst the shorest days of the year you retreat into your 'inner chamber' and secretly work you magic to produce these great images.
Looks like something from an ancient temple painting, for me she is Isis!
Omar

. .   {K:16329} 12/31/2004
You're probably spending New Year's under a sun struck red beach umbrella sipping gin and grenadine while your camera's locked safely in the trunk of your red Ferrari........aren't you?

BTW..... I think your picture's real...not a composite.

Giuliano Guarnieri   {K:34319} 12/31/2004
Nice result, expecially because from darkroom genuine work. PS works is cheaper and easier but the satisfactions you have from the darkroom are another thing!
Happy new year !

;)

Bye

Giuliano

svend videbak   {K:7376} 1/7/2005
Don't know how I've missed this picture and your other "Väsen" picture until now. Of the two, I like this one more, I think the female figure is integrated more successfully. The print must be a joy to look at. I appreciate how you're working "traditionally" in the darkroom to make pictures like this, I find it so much more interesting than electronic digital fiddling on computer. I too would very much like to know how you went about making this. If you could forward your explanatory e-mail to me as well (svend.videbak@vaisala.com) I'd truly appreciate it! I haven't tried anything remotely similar, but would want to try. This is such an enigmatic, beautiful picture with delicious textures. Rgds, Svend

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59907} 1/7/2005
Hello Svend! Yes of course i could send forward to you...it?s pleasure that you like this technique and that you want to try it your self. Lot of work i can promise you, but very satisfying!

Regards/
Jeanette

..amazing!..very good work Janette!

ellie photos   {K:1583} 1/9/2005
Beautiful photo. I like the way the figure is flattened a bit in places, almost silhouette-like. Has the effect of a collage and also an egyptian feel to it.

Anna Mortensson   {K:353} 1/10/2005
Hej Jeanette!!!Du är så duktig, jag känner att jag måste ta kurs, mina bildar är så tråkigt. Du har mycket fantasi och du rädd inte att experimentera!!! Bra!!!

Just adding my kudos to your long list -- great image and textures very reminiscent of egyptian wall paintings. Cool technique!

Mariana Castro   {K:323} 2/11/2005
very good

- -   {K:6282} 3/26/2005
A real winner; I'm amazed how the figure retains such power even though being treated like a piece of furniture (draped, posed like an automaton etc). Witkin was mentioned - I agree, but also crime scene photography with the light being/or mimicking frontal flash. A very, very powerful piece. Next to it, "He" looks kind of lost and insignificant... A fav, I love it. /H
