About What could be better than a load of snow on Xmas day?

A winning lottery ticket I suppose, but that aside, it was pretty well perfect this Xmas.

This is taken from the "Back Meadow", just behind the house my folks live in and I was brought up in.

The hill behind the tree is Pandle - this is the lower 1/2 of it where a road goes over the "Nick".

You can see to the very right most side a little building - that's he Wellsprings. Used to be a pub, but now a restaurant and ski centre.

The other thing it's famous for are the witches - every year on Halloween thousands go up the Nick to celebrate the old Pendle Witches from the Nutter and Devizes families.

End of history lesson!

Nice composition, Ade! Colour of the sky is great and the snow areas are nicely exposed! Interesting "about", too!

I used to go sledging there when I was a wee nipper - there and winter hill lol

Great photo Ade, Driving back to my parents it was pretty thick over Blubberhouses (as per the norm) and a little snow on the road which caused some fun and games :-)

More due apparantly - so I "need" a 20D and a 4 wheel drive !

Best wishes,
Steve

Fab winter scenery Ade and a very informative write up. What's that funny white stuff? We get so little of it here. Still we are nearer to the Equator.
