This is an excellent shot. I would tweak it more in ps and add more saturation and maybe contrast. Just a thought.

A calf with horns?? This is an excellent photo, I love it! I like him/her? standing against the trees. I've never seen such a furry cow, but Kees says we that we do have them over here.

Very nice shot of a beautiful animal Graham. The mood is wonderful, he does look very alone out there.

Hi Graham, we came across a field of Long Horn Highland cattle the other day. They look so forlorn. The wooded surroundings here add to the interest. Nice capture.

Thanks for the great comments Carolyn. These cattle are from Scotland and are known as Highland cattle as they come from the mountains. hence the heavy coats. This little fellow (as you say) cannot be a calf with this spread of horn. Must be some genetic experiment as this variety of cattle are normally very large. This animal had been shunned by the rest of the herd and cast out. When I returned from my walk an hour later he was back with the rest.
Look forward to seeing more of your shots when you put them up. No camera or bad weather?
Regards,
Graham.

Lonely - but hardy, too, despite that moving look of sadness in the eye. The misty background is very effective.

Hi Graham,
Not enough time! Plus the skies have been so white here. Not great for photos.

Aaaah it's gorgeous!! What a lovely shot! Face expression is so cute, and it looks wonderful the way the background is so deep and looks foggy.

Only thing I'm thinking about is if the composition would be even better if a bit of the top could be cropped, and left side to a bit?
