About This is a landscape oriented version of the image of Caudale Beck that I posted yesterday. The light was slightly more golden in this version which can be seen reflected off the rocks. In the original composition the tree on the left wasn't chopped off, unfortunately, the polariser and filter mount vignetted on the left side of this image due to the lens being used at its very wide, 12mm end so I ended up having to crop the image slightly which is frustrating. As before, I used a polarising filter, a 2 stop hard ND grad and 3 stop soft ND grad filter. to tone down the sky.

Your "about" expresses a little frustration, but I like this very much. The colours and detail are excellent, and the water echoes that dusting of snow on the hill behind.

very nice Landscape shot !

Hi Barry, even though this one is very good too, I don't think it can rival the ingeniousness of the previous one (I commented on...;)) The slow shutter, softening up the runnen water adds a very nice touch, though. I think a bit more prominent place for the barren tree in the composition would increase the impact of this shot a bit more.

Cheers,

Hugo

Have you heard of the PTlense plugin for Photoshop?

John Lamb mentioned it to me, and I downloaded it (for free)... It can be used to counter lense distortion and vignetting.

This is a lovely photo.

Geoff, thanks for the tip, I'll take a look at PTlens. Unfortunately I don't think it'll work for this image, it's not so much that the image was vignetted as the edge of the polariser was visible on the left side of the image! Not sure why it only affects the left side.

Another splendid one!

I really ought to get to the lake district sometime when it's not raining, it's so beautiful. I think you've captured that beauty really well here as you've done in your other pics from the area.
