i like the idea and the resulting image. toning and texture are great ;-)
regards,
kostas

Thanks Kostas,
This one will always be one of my favourites mainly because it was one of my first attempts in the darkroom trying something a little different. At the time (many years ago) I was very excited about the results from such a simple process. I thought the two images went well together.

Excellent. The symbolism shouts out. Ditto re enjoying your work. Glad you commented, and I have placed you in friends so I can come back and spend some time here. T.

Thanks Toni, Glad you are interested in my photos. I'm pretty new here. So, I don't have a lot posted. I'll be getting at least one a day up for a little while anyway.

Hey, what do you mean by boys toys. Girls toys too. LOL!!

Thanks Andre for your comment on my image.

Thanks Judi,
You are right. A lot of girls were entered in the Dakar rally this year.

Very nice, Andre! This really presents a veiw from past to present...

Andre Denis   {K:55532} 5/3/2008
Thanks very much Kes!! I'm glad you went back to some old stuff, because it gives me a chance to show off a bit with an attachment.

Talk about a veiw from the past and the present. Check out my D200 wearing the very same lens that I took this image with back in the early 70's.
I just did a machining conversion on the aperature ring to allow the Non AI Nikkor Lens to fit the D200 body. (found info on the net) The camera works perfectly in A priority and Manual mode with the old lens from 1969.
Past and Present and some future!!!

Non AI Nikkor Conversion

Cool shot, Andre! B&W is appropriate! Yeah, I read that all (?) the old nikkor lenses will fit the digital nikons - excepting the d40. But if you had to machine something that must not be true. I wonder which fit and which do not.
I need to get some good glass. Your 50mm should get you into some nice low light shots.

Kes     {K:18221} 5/4/2008
- hey, it's the same lens that took the "boy's toys" shot!

Andre Denis   {K:55532} 5/5/2008
Hi Kes,
One thing to remember is almost any one of the Nikon lenses fit if made after 1977. That is the year that they went to "AI" lenses. Anything before should not be force on unless a slight machining conversion is made. Apparently people were altering the old lenses to work with Nikon film cameras made after 1977 too. Here is a website with a chart that I got a lot of my info from. Nikon used to do these alterations at a fee, but I don't think they do it anymore.
