About Lyon Arboretum is located deep in the back of Manoa Valley. This photo of both sides of the "red" leaf provides a unique view of this plant. The canopy of surrounding vegetation provided the perfect indirect lighting environment.

I like how intense the colors get to be in this type of lighting situation.

Luther, the colors on this are so intense, very nice indeed. I'd crop it down just a bit, so that I only see the central leaf as much as is possible.

I've been to that Arboretum, although it was long ago now. I remember it with great fondness. Thanks for the reminder! Amy

Amy:

Thanks for viewing and commenting. I agree with your cropping suggestion. In fact the print that I have made to exhbit is cropped.

Aloha .... Luther

Note: The Lyon Arboretum just reopened to the public after the unexpected closing 4 months ago.. story http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/article/2004/Dec/22/op/op02p.html.
