It does have a great mood. Nice placement of the person on the bike. Sometimes we just get lucky with the light. Don.

Fabulous, isn't wonderful when you get a special moment like this, it is how I felt about my misty morning shot, although I liked the original I did have to enhance it to get the effect, you have just got it there in front of you
Margaret

Michele Berti   {K:14921} 1/11/2005

Deb Mayes   {K:19605} 1/11/2005
And it's as wonderful and evocative as ever ... probably not so much of Star Trek as of the magic of childhood. Really terrific light and shadow, etc., John.

Lee Harris   {K:14694} 1/11/2005
Nice capture John.
This does have a bit of a movie look but I think more on the Halloween look or scary movie look.
What's lurking in the mist.
Well done.
Lee

Massimo Di Maggio   {K:-55858} 1/11/2005
Niceley framed and well exposed, I like the magic light and the colors, btw my congratulations, untouched photos are my favourites! Did you tried a lower point of view? Just to avoid the cables in the top, they aren?t really disturbing, but they are too visible, in my opinion of course ;) Bye, Max

Trish McCoy   {K:15897} 1/11/2005

Oooo John!!

If you to say " I do not speak well Spanish " for all Brazilian, prepared you, they go to kick you!

The Brazilians hate when they think that we say Spaniard, hehehe... we are the only ones in Latin America who speak Portuguese!

Of this time I go to exempt you, but in the next one he will not have pardon, hehehehehe...

See you "Joćo" (John in portuguese)!

Dr. Rafael Springmann   {K:87615} 1/14/2005
Like a mystery tale, without the fear, just like you meant it to be, George, to remind us of "ET call home"
Thanks for asking about me, John. I'm fine, recuperating from an intensive photographic four day's vacation in Eilat, the southern end of our country.
Thank you also for your very kind comment on my "Fish 6."
Best regards,
Rafi

Dr. Rafael Springmann   {K:87615} 1/14/2005
Sory for the mixup. It's late at night here so i'm not at my best concentration wise. For "George" please read "John."
Best regards,
Rafi

Kristina Kohut   {K:49990} 1/16/2005
So beautiful! Wonderful magic and mystical light, and the child in background makes the feeling of mystique even stronger. A little bit like if the boy is teasing the girl to go further in, but she is hesitating. I love it, John!

James Hager   {K:6285} 1/16/2005
Great shot! I like the three areas with different tones (dark upper right, less dark upper left, and bright lower left) all focusing my view on the bicyclist. Nice work.

Peter De Rycke   {K:41029} 1/19/2005
Su-perb shot John .. i remember a shot taken when i was about 20 .. was on holiday by bike in Hungary .. we drove up a mountain by bike, i got up first .. my mate came minutes later, dooming out of the sunlit mist (after a shower).. well, this was about the atmosphere i got into that shot .. pity mine is still on slide, should take them onto computer one day !

Thanks for all your comments, buddy !
Peter

Incredible light! Very moody and beautiful ... a GREAT picture! Many thanks for your comment, John! :)

Anthony Lound   {K:6586} 6/12/2009
Hazy, warm, painterly, and to my eyes, slightly menacing. My eye is taken on an elliptical tour here: the young cyclist has stopped, yet is ready to take flight of the troubling, shadowy figure in the misty distance - the vanishing point. The rising steam adds hugely to this strikingly beautiful, compelling composition. It's all-of-a-piece this. Congratulations John.

Anthony

Anthony Lound   {K:6586} 6/12/2009
...take flight *from* I should have said :P (I'm so anal about English grammar).

I'd also add, this is the sort of moment that Spielberg would absolutely kill for!

I added it to my favorites , of course!

Ant
