About I used very low lighting (a lamp) with no tripod. I did some softening in PSP to even out the skin tone.

I did my best with what little resources I had!

(The spots on the inner corners of the eye are RHINESTONES!!)

great posing, good atmosphere, too bad it's a little bit blury(or out of focus) around eyes, in my opinion best in your wanderfull diva series!

Mark Evans   {K:17326} 1/11/2005
This is superb melanie !! hoping to get into portraits soon , i hope they come out as good as this !! the skin tones are excellent !! looks like a photo from the 40's - 50's ... regards .. mark .

Erik Neldner   {K:10896} 1/11/2005
Love the vintage feel. Great toning job.

Louise Vessey   {K:13859} 1/11/2005
Hey, that's pretty cool. I actually like the soft blur in this portrait. Suits the old fashioned kind of style even though it is in colour. Nice!

Amna Al Shamsi   {K:21796} 1/11/2005
Excellent portrait. I like the tone and the softness. well done!

Melanie Reynolds   {K:9090} 1/11/2005
The blur was not intentional, it was due to low light and no tripod, but I do think it adds to the feel of this shot. Thanks for commenting!!

Michael Millam   {K:2704} 1/11/2005
well I would say you did pretty good with what you had. This is a great portrait and looks like it could be from the 20's you should try a black and white version of this.

Pnar Yazicioglu   {K:7607} 1/11/2005
love it, so nostalgic. greaaaaaaaat. 7++++++++

CorrieLynn Jacobsen   {K:9882} 1/11/2005
Wow...it really looks like something right out of the 30's...its beautiful. I like the other two, but something about this one is really captivating. I think its the angle, the crop, and the way her eyes are directed. The lighting is gorgeous too, very appropriate, despite what little you had to use. you should be really proud of this!!

Paul Lara   {K:86864} 1/12/2005
Hmmm. All three shots have a 'spot' in the corner of her left eye.

Melanie Reynolds   {K:9090} 1/12/2005
Paul, a few other people have commented on the same thing!! LMAO They were rhinestones, but they didn't photograph as well as I'd have liked. I guess I should have edited them out, but since they were part of the makeup I left them in!

Melanie Reynolds   {K:9090} 1/12/2005
Here it is in B&W, which was originally my intention, but once I downloaded the photos I found that it looked better with the warm brown tones (IMO).

Thanks for commenting, the '20s thing is just what I was going for!

Green Gemini   {K:3388} 1/12/2005
I like that bw better, having color is just an added bonus. YOU have utilized all of your resources to the max. I have seen some other UFers that have the best equipment and still not come out with photos as good as yours. Melanie, it ain't the camera! Superior work!

Howie Mudge   {K:27580} 1/12/2005
You did really well with the resources Melanie. Almost Hollywood style :) Nice composition :)

Judi Liosatos   {K:34047} 1/12/2005
You have given it such a 20's look. Well done. I would probably remove the black dots in the corner of the left eye.

Thanks so much Melanie for your wonderful comments on my work.
