Alastair Bell   {K:29571} 1/11/2005
Fabrice, this is truly magnificent! I love the rope leading the eye to the boats and the wonderful smooth contours of the water and the way they create a dappled reflection. The symmetry of the image about the rope also contrasts perfectly with the assymetric location of the boats and the knot. Beautifully exposed as always although it may benefit from a small amout of adjustment to expose the area under the stern of the boats? You have every reason to be proud of this shot!

P.S. Marie and I had a great laugh at the name of the furthest boat!

Fabrice,
A very nice shot with many strong focal points. nice 'complex' image.
Regards,
Omar

Viktor Pravdica   {K:6647} 1/11/2005
Nice!

Christian Barrette   {K:21125} 1/11/2005
Brillant coup d'oeil. La force de la ligne tracée par l'amarre concentre le regard et organise bien l'image quelque peu complexe, comme la qualiifie Omar.
Marie-Mad, c'est Marie-Madeleine sans doute.

Michele Berti   {K:14921} 1/11/2005
Really nice Fabrice! I like the way u composed here. THe BW conversion and the virage are really well done as in your style.

giovanni guido marchi   {K:26176} 1/11/2005
grande anche questa...un taglio molto particolare e un B/W stupendo

Verena Rentrop   {K:14426} 1/12/2005
like two strong arms holding you...
my first impression...before reading the about...
my eyes are fixed to the foreground...

impressing composition and so excellent in b&w...

Fantastic, my dear friend...

Cheers,
Verena

Very nice & unusual angle! The texture of the water looks so beautiful. This would be just perfect with a more threatening sky, perhaps? Anyway, a great shot!

Howie Mudge   {K:24120} 1/12/2005
great use of the rope to lead the eyes into the scene. I like the dark mood which is helped with the tone.

Diego Ruggiero   {K:10572} 1/12/2005

Salvo Valenti   {K:16911} 1/12/2005
una fantastica cattura , ottima anche la tonalita' ciao salvo

emily savva   {K:21113} 1/12/2005
beautiful dedication that immediately transforms that (anyhow) great pic into a symbolic one... it has an intense calm beauty in it with all these tones that paint it... the perspective gives so much power to that rope and how firmly it keeps the boat protected in the serenity of the harbour... just like friends do... there in storms but also there in good times... love it dear Fabrice.... very very well done... Emily :)

Fabrice Gourbilleau   {K:53288} 1/12/2005

Khaled Mursi Hammoud   {K:52411} 1/12/2005
Excellent capture Fabrice.
I like the angle and the composition so much.
The rope is so clear and so is the reflecions on the water but I wish you included the whole sails of the boats.
Great work as usual Fabrice,
Khaled.

Luís Lobo Henriques   {K:9002} 1/13/2005
J'ai adoré le sens que tu l'as donné, Fabrice. Bravo!

Massimo    {K:5595} 1/13/2005

Wow...what a fantastic point of view!!!! Happy to be present here with you, my dear dear friend. The tonal range and sharpness, as well as the composition sing. T.

Hanggan Situmorang   {K:37824} 1/14/2005
Nice composition, Fabrice. I can't stop my eye to see the rope. So persuasive, full of character. You made an ordinary piece becoming extraordinary. Well, I guess that's one of the nice things in photography, isn't it? Congratulations, my friend..:)
Cheers,
Hanggan

m.c. lopez   {K:14766} 1/15/2005
Jolie perspective !
...et pourvu que Marie Mail ! Ouch !

Alper Tecer   {K:7002} 1/16/2005
Another good work from you, Fabrice. I liked the way the photo processed (darkened sky) and centralized rope that guide the eye towards the boats. regards. Alper

Roberto Arcari Farinetti   {K:178265} 1/20/2005
hi fabrice..
exceptional the rope that holds the boat, holds it firm, like a friend with the other! stiff hand to the aid seems one! a beautiful perspective and a great sense. i like it..
have a good day!
roby

Gaja Snover   {K:4462} 1/25/2005
Hi Fabrice,

I agree with all the previous comments: the rope leading the eye to the boats, and the tones are great. But I think with the rope right in the center, and that dark building in the upper left, the image seems a bit unbalanced - I guess I would prefer to have the rope to the right a bit, although I know you can't change that so this may not be a very constructive comment. Thank you for your comments on my photos.

best,
Gaja

Marijan Galijan   {K:68} 2/16/2005

John Hatz   {K:144528} 1/27/2008
Excellent point of view, you really 'use' that rope to give direction to the watcher's eyes Fabrice, an excellent element in photography used with a great way here by you.
