About Attempting to create a silhouette with the materials I had on hand: a martini glass, a sheet of regular copy paper, and a mini lava lamp.

I placed the lava lamp behind the martini glass. It had just been turned on, so that it emitted a bright glow from the bottom of the light and much less light everywhere else. In front of the martini glass, I placed the sheet of paper and allowed it to curve inwards into the glass. The areas where the glass appears sharpest is where the paper was touching the glass.

to my favorites. this is excellent, a good experiment, and obviously was effective. i'm still a litle fuzzy on how exactly you got these effects, but i'm impressed. way to work with the materials on hand. please see my portfolio, and feel free to leave any comments.

Wow, thats really cool. Its neat how you set up different situations with lights and papers to see what happens. Cool idea!
