Hermosa Foto!.
Me gusta mucho el contraste entre las boyas y el ambiente gris.

Such elegance appropriate in eulogy. That sky is beautiful and the quiet, dark tones. Amazing. Great grains.

?Time to rest? is among a few of the great pictures here. The picture, yes, but the also the masterful way you fleshed out the sentiment of the image in post production . As Samuel said, a stunning shot in any category! Really a shot I?ll never forget among the thousands I look at any given month.
In the late 70?s, early 80?s, I lived in a small fishing town in northern BC, and when not traveling, I was ?part-time? employed as a commercial fisherman. I loved the life. And I loved going out to sea even if I was quite lucky to survive the waters on more than one occasion. But I had friends consumed by the very same blackness you show in your image. People would go down every year and in every fishery - herring in the spring, salmon in the summer, halibut in autumn? two friends of mine drowned, bodies never recovered. Up and down the coast we would hear of other folks vanishing, never to be seen again. Yes, fishing is a dangerous gig! But I loved it! Everything about it? maybe not everything - being out for weeks without women was rough?

Again, great picture.

Um abraço Luis

C.

Ps? have you picked up our own Jose Saramago?s ?Blindness?.

luis pereira   {K:18345} 2/3/2005
Thank you very much for your kind comment Carlos. It looks like we have a few things in common. We both like photography, I also was a fisherman and we've read Sarango books. I was anware of "Blindeness". Read "The gospel according to Jesus", "the year of the death of Ricardo Reis" and the one about the separation of Spain and Portugal from Europe (I frogot the title). The reason it took me a few days to anwser you is because I've been looking for a news clip from a local paper with a picture of Saramago...and me, but I coudn't find it. I did get some shots of him. Um Abraco.Oh another thing in common...both portuguese.

As silhuetas e o "drama" que vem do céu , faz um contraste e uns tons magnificos.
Um abraço
