Books and photography have much in common, don't they? They both have the potential to reveal unexpected worlds and dimensions!

Nice shot.

Hi Alex; extremely shallow DOF, but a very good angle/POV. Also a very fitting tone, adding to the atmosphere.

Cheers,

Hugo

Thanks for using your beautiful image for a poem....you can find it on my website....

www.my-tree-of-life.com/i_wrote_a_book.htm

I wrote a book
how people can be
a lot of pages
about sadness and me

I wrote a book
a story of my life
each line is true
but I will survive

I wrote a book
and if I read my lines
then I read between it
and recognize the signs

Dr. Rafael Springmann   {K:87622} 1/23/2005
This is our first, but hopefully not our last meting on the pages of "Usefilm" Mr.Pieroni. I've been to Italy many times and I know it is a wonderful country. I read you bio and looked through your portfolio. The latter was easy, because there were not many photos in it, but difficult because they were all good and hard to select one to comment on. I finally settled on the above, not only because it was the last one you posted and hence the first one I saw, but also because it was very good. It had character, the dof and colors were excellent and Most important , it is simple and simplicity I keep writing I've been told is the secret of beauty in art.
You are, of course, invited to read my bio and pay further visits to my portfolio.
In the meantime I thank you for your very friedly comments on my "Reflection in Tel Aviv 3" and my "Fabric 1."
Best regards,
Dr. Rafael (Rafi for future communications) Springmann

Nice idea well executed. I like these shots with selective focus. Here's one of my attempts in a different context:
http://www.usefilm.com/image/208575.html

Not being a macro shot, the focus was not sufficiently shallow in my shot.

angelita mannoni   {K:6102} 1/24/2005

Judi Liosatos   {K:34047} 1/31/2005
Supreme!! I have wanted to try this angle for a long time. Thankyou so much for your wonderful comment on my image.
