About Circular polarizer; Shutter speed: 1/60 sec (foreground) and 1/250 (sky); Aperture: 8; Exposure mode: Av; Metering mode: Evaluative; ISO: 100; Lens: 17 to 40mm; Focal length: 40mm; Subject distance: 655 m; Image quality: Raw; White balance: Auto; ; Color space: sRGB; Saturation: High; Sharpness: High; Contrast: High; Tone: Normal Composite shot, one exposed for the foreground (1/60) and another for the sky (1/250) because of wide dynamic range. About an hour after a heavy thunderstorm, it was damp and misty, and I was attacted by the haze. Was disappointed at the overcast sky image, but 2 stops underexposed there was enough detail, then enhanced using `multiply` with layers in PS. The sky image and the foreground were then stacked in PS, with a gradient layer mask for smooth transition. The foreground layer was quite dull, I tried a blending layer with `vivid light` (about 50%) and spotted this effect for some parts of the image (wood) with another layer mask and a brush because the effect on the foreground was unnatural. Another layer to reduce brightness selectively in the grain field, and at last sharpening. A lot of postprocessing, but the lighting was unsuitable even with selectively exposed RAW images.

Yes it is an interesting image, but I must say it looks quite unnatural. that is not bad if that is the look you are going for --- the light just doesn't look as one might anticipate when seeing this.

Interesting though

I can say that all the post processing has paid off! This is a stunning, almost supernatural capture. Nice composition also.
One for my favorites!
Congrats,

Martin

It a lovely image but I think the sky needs to get away from the trees. I have a feeling of suffocation looking at the sky just above the tree tops. Otherwise excellent colors and a beautiful scene.

Cheers, Hesham

Even though it looks somewhat "processed," it is certainly very beautiful, and ultimately that's what's important! Great work.
