Lovely details! Very unusual leaf. A begonia maybe? or coleus?

Paul Lara   {K:86876} 1/19/2005
No, it's a pitcher-plant; a carnivorous plant, a meat eater. Carnivorous plants usually live in nitrogen poor soils. They have 'learned' to augment the inadequate nitrogen available in the soil by capturing and consuming insects!

Thus endeth the lesson.

Its very creative to grow these things. Exotic! Excellent 'portrait' of the meat eating uhhhhh flower.

I can just hear it screaming "FEED ME!"

Great detail and colour in this intersting composition. I love the angle you have used, it certainly looks like it is screaming 'feed me'. Background suits the composition very well

Pitcher? I would have thought 'catcher'!!!

OK...I just read some of the comments below, and see it actually is a pitcher!
What an incredible plant, great 'catch'!

Thanks. I named it 'relief' because it was in our Norleans hotel room while I was on vacation.
