Hi Michael, looking at this shot, it's marvellous tones and the fiercely contrasting colours, I really wonder why you posted the first few in B&W. Please tell me they were shot on a different day, with an even cloud cover and even a grey, drizzly rain! (ok, a different lighting situation will also do). Looking at the shadow parts in the sand, it looks like some heavy tweaking in PS, but the result is stunning. The thing that makes this image tick is that the hues in the sand are repeated in the sky, making it a near trippletoned image. Outstanding shot; beautiful in it's simplicity , warmth and colour.

3. I'm making a point of BW vs Color. I read a comment in a thread where someone ignores color photography, and they ignore B&W if it is digital. This of this as my quiet multi-day protest.

That is a very interesting statement, Michael! And where do you stand? In between, I read from between the lines.... M
y two cents worth: Both serve a purpose, but especially with the ease a colour image is converted to B&W with Digital, the B&W image has become overrated. I have a feeling that many see the B&W as a success story in creating a mood, atmosphere and an in general an artistic beauty.
I'd be pushing it (and not be truthful) if I would state that it would be a shame to convert this to B&W, but having seen this one, I do believe it the thought wouldn't even have crossed my mind. Maybe that's my flaw / rigidity.
Anyway, Some images just cry out for B&W; but only if the situation, and present atmophere allows it, and not the other way around (you don't create an atmosphere that isn't there in the actual scene without heavy photoshop. The same applies with colour: Contrasting hues, as in this beauty, but also the lush tones and atmosphere of crips spring morning can only be transferred to the viewer in colour... (maybe it's not the best examples, but allow me some room, here).
I'm not arguing your choice, it's just a general observation. Maybe it belongs in the philosophy forum. Still, I think it's an interesting thought... Feel free to elaborate...:)

Lovely image Michael. Well defined textures and perfect colour saturation. The way the eye is led from foreground to background and back is quite masterful. Beautiful. (Just don't convert it to black and white or the flat earthers will have you! - I'm already in hiding...) ;-)

Good use of the low angle light and natural contours Michael. maybe just a bit too much sky for my taste. A slight crop off the top would balance the composition IMHO. Regards John

Great perspective and design. The twiking in PS is fine with me. Maybe the sharpening filter is a little too strong creating noise in the sand can be seeing in the foreground.

Blue ripples, gold ripples, rust ripples. Spectacular colors that compliment one another, this is just outstanding!! And the faint golden haze at the horizon, an added plus to the whole scheme, very nicely seen and photographed.
The composition superb.
