About A vertical pano of four landscape shots (handheld), 1/80 sec to 1/640 sec f:8.0 @17 mm (equal 28 mm in film terms), ISO 100. On my walking tour after a thundershower, the raising mist from the humid air created a very interesting atmosphere. First, I converted the RAW shots with CaptureOne to TIFFS (matched color setting and curves for all four patches to get smooth transitions), adjusted contrast in the grain field with a vivid light blended layer mask in PS and pushed the sky tones with a multiply blended layer mask. The result was a quite colorful, perhaps ?overkitsched? 15 mp large pano, great for large print.
For B&W conversion I used a PS plugin (Convert to B&W pro; http://www.theimagingfactory.com), with a yellow filter setting, color response Ilford FP4 type, contrast according to Ilfords Multigrade system, with a grade 2 filter response setting (slightly soft). At last, I added a sepia tone, resized, and sharpened.

in österreich gibt es auch ein mariazell: ein heiliger ort der muttergöttin lange vor dem christentum schon. (ein bisserl kitschy ist es schon, aber das ist auch dem 'genius loci' durchaus angemessen, imho:))

What makes these photos even more grand is that you take the time to tell us how you accomplished your art so that we could learn by it. Breath taking work, really.

Carsten...this is simple a work of ART!!! By that I mean I could stare at it for hours, an never grow tired. You've captured amazing detail in the wheat, and the tones you've used make this "simple" scene simply RICH! I'm just dumbstruck that you have only 9 comments on the one....I just don't get it. Straight to my favorites, you've got a beautiful capture here!

Best Regards
Jan
