Beautiful shot! Love how everything behind it just disappears into nothingness.

this is a very nice shot, very moody....you have an impressive portfolio.

Sony Kusumo   {K:7052} 1/22/2005
Hmmm, cold, moody, guess that's what I feel when I saw this picture. The object has been captured well, I mean, one lonely tree, isolated from their friends, in a hazy, foggy, morning... should be feeling cold and moody though...
Interesting picture John, and captured very well to show the expressions. Beautiful!

Bob Botts   {K:414} 1/22/2005
very beautiful..

Peter De Rycke   {K:37234} 1/22/2005
Perfect exposure which renders the mist very good.. not easy to do when the sun starts breaking through .. surely like your spacy framing too !

John, This is very effective thanks to its simplicity. Nicely captured and smotth toning makes for a great shot. You should try some more like this! Best regards, Patrick

Linn Currie   {K:24426} 1/22/2005
Fabulously misty, soft and a touch of loneliness. I like the soft tones with the tree being a soft silhouette.

Very beautiful John, and great to see you post again!

Regards
Linn

Thanks Linn. I've been busy trying to save my business... Ugh... the good news is I think after a big blessing that just happened I will be able to move forward! I have been spending a lot of time with my photography and will start teaching workshops this year... Not as much time for Usefilm...

I love these kind of shots (as you can see from my last two uploads. :-) The lighting is magical. I also love the graduated layers of color. Very pretty!

Derek Kennedy   {K:2270} 2/27/2005
So simple, yet so elegant. I love the overall mood of the image. The tree may be a little too large in the frame for me (altho well placed IN the frame), but overall it works well. I also like the fog and how it diffused the sun. Nice tones - in camera or in PS? Iether way, it's a great shot.

John Barclay   {K:3650} 2/28/2005
Hey Derek. So nice to hear from you! I've not posted much on the net lately, just to busy.. Thanks for your usual kind and constructive comments. I hope all it well with you.

Mary Sue Hayward   {K:17525} 7/1/2005
John, thanks so much for your recent comment on my abstract. I've missed your work and wish you would post some more here.

This particular shot...how did I miss this the when it was first posted?!? I cannot tell you how long I've looked for the perfect lone tree. There is something so compelling about that imagery.

I like how you framed this and how the fog and light work together to create a glow. This image conveys a certain melancholy. You did a terrific job, as always.

And, if I forgot to mention it, POST AGAIN!!

:)

John Barclay   {K:3650} 7/1/2005
Thanks Mary Sue! I realize I've not been here much, I just had to much to do and had to cut back on something. I've posted one today just for you and Linn... :)
