About I know the tree branch covers some of him, but the tree is part of the appeal of this image to me, so I decided to post it.

You're right, to me the branch adds to the image, great capture and DOF Rebecca!

Dorothy Di Liddo   {K:13766} 1/25/2005
Shoot! that branch didn't bother me at all, but then I don't mind a few stray hairs in the eyes either. :) Yes, I've got a bit of the devil in me! But I know what I like too, and this is a great capture. They are cute little buggers aren't they? :) Dottie

I like the natural environment type of shot, Rebecca! Great colours and DOF.
Dave.

Good capture of this bluejay, Rebecca! We've got quite a lot of these guys around these parts - aggressive and noisy, but beutiful! Is he sitting in a Crepe Myrtle tree by any chance?

Rebecca Raybon   {K:26655} 1/25/2005
ACtually it is a crepe myrtle. I cannot tell a lie. It is a large limb off the neighbors crepe myrtle that was cut off. I stick it on a big pot on my back deck, and a couple of limbs from some other trees. This was the only way I could attract the birds to a feeder this close to the house!

A perky little bird - looks as if he knows he's supposed to pose for you!

Alison DuFlon   {K:36165} 1/25/2005
Great perspective and dof, this is a great portrait of this little guy, showing off all the beautiful details of the feathers. Alison

Very nice capture. I too think the tree branch works well with this pose. I like the colors and the dof is perfect. Great job! Regards, Dwight

Beautiful shot. I love this bird series. And what a great idea to plant some branches for them. Brilliant.

Jimmy Payne   {K:21163} 1/26/2005
The branches make this an exceptional photo of the Jay. It is much more natural seeing him/her in a tree. Beautiful shot, Rebecca.

Del Metheny   {K:25369} 1/26/2005
I love the way the birds in your last few bird photos are fluffed for winter. I think the winter photos are superior because of that. Del.

Trish McCoy   {K:20979} 1/26/2005
stunning capture.
