Nice capture Don,
I've never seen anything quite like this.
I also have no idea what it is, on the rock.
But I don't need to know exactly what it is in order to appreciate this image! I like it.
Great textures also, and I like the composition. Very abstract!

I know they put them in there yards here called moss boulders and to think when I live in Utah we were trying to get the rocks out of our yards. Excellent capture. I do like this moss or growth that grows on rocks. Excellent image.

Larry, it is growning on the rocks. This was quite hard but I am sure that it is still growing. It varies in size from about a dime to much bigger such as this. Some are very bright colors. I am sure they call it lichen. Don.

Hi Don; well, I really like it as a photograph-- sort of a semi-abstract-- but then I'm a retired Soil Scientist-- and love the desert! Great colors, nice composition, and good detail for this unusual subject. Cheers. Craig

I find it interesting, it's a beautiful abstract. Well saturated and defined. Though not very structured, you brought some interesting constraints for the eye through the angular shape of the rock and the natural frame created by the plants around.
