About I had to use a flash and it blew the foot out a bit, so I did a little burning to put the detail back in.

Haha this is great! I love how just the foot is focused... it looks very cool! You did a good job with the burning... it doesn't looks blown out at all! Very cool perspective :)

This is an amazing shot, Melanie. The DoF is fantastic as well as the B&W tones. You know how to work that A80 to its full potential!

Melanie Reynolds   {K:9090} 1/29/2005
Thanks, Reza, I've really been trying lately! The one thing I can't seem to master with this camera is the manual focus. The LCD is so small I can never tell if it's actually focused or not... it usually isn't and I end up using all my battery. I say screw it, I'll learn manual focus when I get a better camera ;o)

SO FUNNY!!! I love his expression, even way off in the backgroundlike that. Great experiment!!

Reza Fakhrai   {K:3059} 1/29/2005
when I had my A70, manual focus consistently frustrated me because the only way to do it was on the LCD. Then you'd think that it was focused and it wasn't even close when viewed on the computer. Just wait until you get a DSLR or the like...it's a complete epiphany.
