Excellent! Have the eagles on San Juan Island lost some of their fear of people? I noticed you have many nice tight shots at your website. I have been stding a couple of groups for about six weeks now, here in South Dakota. They are very nervous when it comes to people.

Nice one! A little tighter crop, might be beneficial here. Love the exprssion you captured.

Thanks for the compliment Pat!

In answer to your question - they're still shy. I need to be careful not to disturb them, particularly in the winter. When they're in a tree, I have found that I can get to within 50-100 feet of the tree before they get too nervous -- but when they're on the rocks by the sea, I can't get within 75-100 yards without spooking them. This photo was taken last summer when I ducked around some of the natural cover. 400mm lens (plus Canon 10D 1.6 multiplier) helps a lot and I've used houses and cars as blinds too.

Cheers,
Matt
