About I just got in from work & this beauty was singing its heart out at the bottom of the garden. It didn't move for about 20 minutes, what a treat to hear! They are very rare where I live, I think because the French like to eat them... so there migrating numbers have dwindled.

Sorry it's not very sharp, another dull Derby day, unfortunately...

Super capture Steve. How close were you from him? Maybe it was the converter that caused the softness. Good image all the same.

Den,
I was in the house & he/she was at the end of the garden, about 80 feet.

Steve

Nice capture steve, pretty little guy, dosent look as though hes missing any meals :)...
your using a 1.4 extender? not canon right? I tried every brand of 1.4X and had so many soft shots with this lens I sold it on ebay.....
Hope you have better luck with it.....

Hi Marcus,

This is the Kenko 1.4x teleplus 300 pro. I taped over the pins to get AF, but this was shot an hour before dusk an a cloudy day. Lots of exposure compensation. And AF wouldn't lock on, so I focused manually what I thought was just in front, then shot about 15 shots, turning the focus a fraction for each shot. This was the sharpest. I will let you know how I get on with it in bright light (could be 3 months, knowing the weather here!).
ST.
