About This is my friend Caroline in her studio on Hornby Island. She is painting like crazy for a up coming show in Vancouver B.C.. The pressure is overwhelming so gritting her teeth and rocking to some oldies on the CD player are all part of the ambiance and romance.

OK, it is now more clear how white and yellow light interflow each other. Nice combination.

kind regards to your friends in the Island which has been more and more

I cannot wait to have a studio of my own some day, much like this one. Wish her all the very best for that show in Vancouver.

Great shot of a woman ~ I mean, artist ~ at work, Tim!!
It looks like a typical artist's workplace!
Kind regards, Chris

Hey thanks for your comments.
Yes i liked the play and combination of warm light and the cool light coming through the windows. It gives the interior a inviting feel of warmth.

Margaret Sturgess   {K:49403} 2/10/2005
Lovely composition, the colours/shades and the view out of windows give a glimpse of the cold outdoors, and adds to the ambience of the studio. The balance of the image is so good, sufficient concentration on the artist without losing any of the mood. Hope her show goes well

You have captured your friends well Tim, the lighting is beautiful, what great studios. Do you ever have joint shows on the Island.? Alison

Tim  Schumm   {K:27167} 2/10/2005
Hi Alison,

There are many artists here on the Island and on occation there are local showings and also studio tours durring the summer months. Just about everyone here is creative in someway or another. I guess thats why we all live here...lol....

hi tim - i like the lighting & the environment you've captured here, but i notice that your portraits are getting more intimate, more honest as you shoot more - it's good to see them progressing. Keep going - you're doing great & this is a really dynamic series.
