About While I personally have no use for our officially sanctioned, mass marketed, soulless holidays, I do appreciate the innocence of childhood, precisely because it is the antithesis of these coorporate shams. Reed was exploring an abandoned house on his family's land and I was shooting away, trying to capture these spontaneous moments, when he found this old card. I asked him to hold it out for me and this is the image that resulted.

Forget the chocolates, the jewlery, the rows of cheezy cards at the Big Box store, and try, just try, one holiday at a time to do something real. Only together can we reclaim our collective spirits. Just my Valentines rant.

Excellent use of dof, and I like your treatment here. It's a sweet little valentine from another time. :) As for your rant, no argument here.

Very cool image. Great use of selective color. Nice to know the story behind the image. Thanks for commenting on my image, "Light Among the Shadows."
