Its cheaper to buy your setup than a dedicated macro lens, your results are indistinguishable from the best macro lenses.

Actually, dedicated digicam macro lenses (diopters) usually provide far less magnification then a 50mm objective lens. Also, 50mm lenses are usually better color corrected then a simple achromatic dublet.
It's really a win-win situation :) You get better quality for far less $$.

Wow! this is excellent, I can't understand until now how these stuff goes out of your camera, I tried your way, you can see the result in my galley, do you use flash?? the colors are usually weak, or I should remove all the filters on my cam? like vivid and stuff... thanks for answering.

I have seen your macros and they are really very good! There is a noticable chromatic aberation and
the images are a bit soft near the edges but it is
to be expected from a magnifying glass. What you nead is a 50mm f/1.8 or faster objective lens. They are really not that expensive (used) and are far superior then any single lens or acromathic dublet.
As for the flash, yes I use it most of the time. As the built in flash is (out-of-the-box) useless for extreme macro photography (on account of it beeing obstructed by the lens) I had to build a 'flash guide' to guide the light around the lens so it would hit the subject from the side and so provide far better and more flexible ilumination.
I have build my 'flash guide' from a plastic film container (with a cut-off bottom so it's hallow on both ends) and a Aluminum foil. It's really not that hard. You then fix it to the objective with a rubber band and you have a usable flash in super-macro 'mode'.

Thanks very much, Here I found minolta 50mm f1.8 lens for 70$, although it is made in 1990 and used for 10 years, but the man didn't sell it to me for less than that, I can't put all my pocket money on it, "45$ per month". Also the focus on S1 IS is tuff, I want to tell you also that the color depends on the type of glass, your lens it is made of special type of glass, magnifying glass it is made from very cheap type, and I noticed there is a little blue in it, I think you have a full manual lens? or do you mean 1 single lens?
thanks very much, I find macro and street photography are the most beautiful.
