About The common gull is all too often overlooked IMHO.
Common; yes, but sneakily elegant; the wing feathers are quite beautiful, an opportunist. A bit like me.

Read into that what you like! Just don't leave any food around when I am nearby.....
Actually I think this is a 'black-headed' gull in winter plumage, but the same rules still apply!

I really love gull shots, and I have a ton of them, I think I will post one soon, They are really fun to shoot, you have a real winner here, perfect exposure, very nice feather detail, very sharp against the nice blue sky. one thing was bugging me not because It bothered me, I was wondering what it would look like with out the background bird, I cloned it out and I think your orignal has more charactor.... I can post if for you but I dont really like doing that without asking....

I also like gull shots, and have posted a few previouly. I like the background bird -- it made me wonder at first whether it was a shadow.

I like this too. I have it now on my computer at work as my desktop. It calms me down when I look at it!

Steve.
