About Just got my film back following my trip to the English Lake District last weekend. This is a slightly different take on the Dawn on the Rocks image I published earlier in the week. This image was taken using on medium format film rather than digital. I like the position of the sheep huddled against the wall in this version. I used 2 stops of hard ND grad and 3 stops of soft ND grad and an 81B warm-up to reduce the blue tint that Velvia takes on at this time of the morning. The simple design of rangefinder lenses means that it's possible to shoot directly into the sun without too much flare - something I wouldn't try with a zoom on an SLR.

Delle due preferisco questa, secondo i miei gusti, ha piùatmosfera, molto bella, nitida e sentita!

I think this shot is a bit better - I can inagine though how good it would look as a tranny. You went to a lot of effort to capture, well done

Great job Barry, as usual! The overall sharpness and tone of the scene are spectacular! Congrats on Bluebell Dawn by the way. It was well deserved! (I nominated that one for P.O.D. a long time ago. I think it deserves whatever awards you recieve!) congrats!

You mastered a very tricky lighting situation with the filter combination. Good idea to show the sheep as scaling factor, adds even more depth. DOF is very good, much detail - but what do you think about slight sharpening after resize ? My observation on my own shots on Usefilm is some loss of sharpness after downsizing for upload.

Carsten, to be fair this image wasn't very sharp out of the scanner (the transparency's 3D sharp though) but you're right, the scaled down images and conversion to JPEG does affect the overall sharpness quite noticeably.
