P.S. My D70 developed some kind of focussing problem. After a lot of discussion with the company I bought it from they decided the 'best' they could do for me was return it to Nikon for repair. It'll be gone around 6 weeks!! 40 days to go!!

I have a friend who has had the SAME problem with his Nikon...I'm surprised, guess I thought you'd never have a problem with a Nikon!!

Dear Lori, Beautiful shot - looks like the cover of a greeting card - very nice. I read about the problems with your Nikon (I thought you used a Canon for some reason) I've been hearing those things too. Chris' 6 weeks sounds like a VERY LONG time. I know Canon is in Irvine (Ca., for out of state people) and I've NEVER had to wait more than a week (plug, plug plug) but that's been all non - digital. Always did an excellent job. Take Care., Mark

Hey THANKS Mark,
I do use a Canon and a Pentax....I think where you saw a reference to a Nikon was with Chris, I had mentioned a friend of mine who also had Nikon problems.
New camera soon for me...Probably the high end (kinda) Canon. I've read some very good reviews on them. There are a few others I like also, mainly I just WANT an SLR and good optics...that's not too much to ask huh? LOL
It's on the horizon.

I see you are considering a digital slr? I am falling in love with my new Canon 20D. But now torn between getting a 100mm 1:1 macro or a long tele zoom. I should maybe get the tele as it may be the only way to get up close to my wife after spending all this money. lol

Too funny Jimmy! I think if I had to choose between macro or tele, I'd get the tele because I think I would use it more. Can still get in close to flowers, althought surely not the same thing by any means...
