Thanks for the comment. Lyon Aboretum is a beautiful place. The sunlight on this January morning illuminated the Buddah in a very warm pleasing fashion.. The view from the behind, (on a separate posting) shows a colder view, due to the exposure for the background.

Thanks for all of your comments. While I am not a Buddist, I do respect the traditons and beliefs. Buddhism a major religon in Hawaii due to the immigrant population for the far east. Accordingly, there are religous celebrations are observed thruout the year..

I love the way the vegetation surrounds the statue in this scene. Not sure why that is but it just works for me. Your composition is right on with the Buddha given room in the frame to move, if he so chooses. The warm light compliments the golden statue and all the colors are nicely saturated. Very nice image,

Thanks for your comment on my Buddha photo. The vegetation and morning sun at the Lyon Aboretum complements the Buddha.
From the front (using a low viewing angle) , the morning sun provides a warm, golden illumination to the Buddha and the surroundings.
From the rear, http://www.usefilm.com/image/661706.html , (and with the same morning sunlight), a different feeling of peace is conveyed due to the lower lighting intensity and a high to low view.
Note the red string, one of visible gifts, including money and food, left for the Buddha.
