About a soft, moody portrait of my son Aaron.

The previous photo in my portfolio describes the method I used to get the look. It is pretty simple but works great for portraits.

Later I found that other photographers use a similar method for landscapes.

Great shot - my 50mm does this for me. :) Love the tone you've chosen here. It's a great color.

Lovely soft tones, excellent portrait. Looked at how you did it, I will have to study that and see if I can figure it out, would like to try it on some shots of my grandaughter

Very soft and tender face, David. Nice captured eyes, too. Thanks for sharing..:)

A very fine effect indeed, I'll try it too this evening. There's only one thing: the yellowish cast upon his cheeks. It's too intense and doesn't look natural. (I hope it's not from my monitor!)

Hi David, this is a very good portrait of a beautiful face, his expression and his eyes are sweet, the softness and the toning too perfectly fits with the pure atmosphere of the photo, I would like it less centered, but it?s a personal taste. Thankx for your comment, Max

PS: thankx also for sharing your method, it really works!

Dsvid, thanks so much for your comment on my photo. Love hearing more of the reasons why somebody likes something (or doesn't) - so thanks for taking the time. I like this image a lot. The lighting is just beautiful and the softness you've added makes the image so much more appealing.

Bea Friedli   {K:9834} 3/16/2005

this is gorgeous.... love the softness... and in reply to your reply to me, you know, i don't know much about ps, but i will tweak and tweak and tweak and even tweak again..... and i nearly always fo back to the original,i always look at photos like yours and wish i knew exactly how to do that.... so i will learn some more about photoshop, coz i like the look of tweaked photos on certain ones...
thanks david... now it's time for me to get to bed... it's 4.30am here... had a big shoot today and have been 'tweaking'... now it's time to stop looking and have a rest and come back in the morning and hate what i 've just taken all night doing, and start all over again.....LOL.....HAHAHHAHAH....
cheers matey
