Hi Fabrizio,
Thanks for your suggestion. I usually do like very bold and saturated colors also; in this case I really liked the late afternoon sunlight that added a slight golden tone to everything. I like your version as well although I'm not sure which I would choose. thanks!

How wonderfully the shadow complements the other lines and keeps this fine photo from collapsing into two dimensions. Even though the stair rail seems so close to the front of the house the shadow guarantees a space. Couldn't I just squeeze in between?
