About While I was capturing some photo in Bab-Zowaila in Cairo, I spoted this old man sitting in his tiny workshop.... The way he was sitting and expression on his face worth more than 1000 of words.

I know the bottom of the photo may be a little bit overexposed but I liked the pose of the man who was sitting in his tiny shop and there was a much difference in lighting between the inside and the sunlighting at the entrance of the shop.

Actual camera settings: 1/50 sec - f/4.2 - ISO 400 - Focal Length 42mm.

Indeed Khaled! This is a very emotive portrait. The B&W tone added more emotions to the photo. Perfect subject and moment. Do you think the area below (where the shoes are) are a bit over exposed? Anyway, just some thoughts. wonderful!

b.rgrds,
LarryM.P.

Hi Larry,
Thanx for you nice comment.
I agree totally about the area at the bottom, I knew before uploading it that it was over exposed but I liked the pose of the man and coz he was sitting in his tiny workshop, there was a much difference in lighting between the inside of the shop and the bottom of the photo which included part of the street with this sunlighting.
Thanx again my friend,
Khaled.

Alison DuFlon   {K:36165} 3/15/2005
Great capture of this man Khaled, I assume he knew you were taking the picture.? The lighting is wonderful and his pose and expression give of both the feel of worry yet aloofness. Alison

Larry Fosse   {K:65815} 3/15/2005
Another wonderful human interest phot Khaled

Dirck DuFlon   {K:35779} 3/15/2005
Excellent portrait, Khaled! Difficult lighting situation, but the result is fantastic as the bright light bounces off the sidewalk and provides a wonderful, even illumination for your subject! And you are right about his expression - it says it all: boredom, annoyance, concern, weariness... Definitely a 7!

Kiarang Alaei   {K:49060} 3/15/2005

Eric Simpson   {K:2348} 3/21/2005
Your Black & White photos are definitely amazing, Khaled, and this one is no exception. Great work! I also just noticed you took this at 1/50th... Wow. You must have a pretty steady hand!

Khaled Mursi Hammoud   {K:52411} 3/21/2005
Hi Eric... Actually I usually try to stabilize my hand by resting the elbow of the one holding the camera which is usually the right hand on my trunk when I capture photos at dim light when I'm forced the slow down the shutter speed...
Thanx again my friend,
Khaled.
