thanks Kelly, the torn paper effect kind of got my interest a couple of days ago. I looked through countless tutorials how to do it. I didn't like them. So I took the most direct way. Just tore off the edges of a paper, scanned it agains a black paper and there was my perfect mask for the torn paper effect. :)

David, another beautiful capture! You can work some wonders with that Bronica! :)
Question, is the 80 a bit short, or do you find it works fine on kids? Reason I'm asking, I'm probably going to rent a medium format film camera when my twins come, and I'm struggling between the ease of use of the 80/2.8 indoors, and the possible necessity of the 150. Just curious of your findings using the normal lens. I'm probably going to rent it for a week this summer, so I can at least have a decent idea of how to use it, but going back and forth on lens choice.
Thanks! :)

Hi Klifton, I did a lot of research and thinking before I got this MF camera. Bronica was the best in price/quality. But the main reason for me to go into MF was very much the use of the 80 mm lens with all its DOF characteristics. But on a MF camera 80 mm gives me a relatively wide angle. That was exactly what I was going for. I wanted to have narrow DOF but at a decently wide field of view.
Since DOF depends mostly on the focal length the only way to get narrow DOF at a wide angle is using a larger format. As much as I like small DOF I don't like the narrow angle that usually comes with it especially on digital cameras. That's why I have no desire to buy any longer lenses for my Bronica. If I want a tele lens I can use my digital camera and get the look I want.
Thanks for all your kind comments on my photos! Comments on my photos is the most important kind of feedback for me here.

David, Thank-you so much for your response! Extremely helpful! I'll stick with the 80mm, I like the nearly added stop (plus the easier to work with focal length) of the 80 over the 150, so I'll stick with that.
I also really like the look you're getting with the torn edges. Added with the unique tonality you consistantly keep in every photo, gives your pictures all a very distinctive look! Awesome work, keep it up! :)

here is a DOF calculator. I used it a lot to compare lenses to make the right choice.
