About I have tried to hold out on posting sunsets but saw this yesterday from the car window and just had to give it a go....I promise I won't post anymore but see what you think? Just a tiny little adjustment on contrast...that's all.

What makes a great sunset photograph?

Cheers

Manu

What's up with holding out on sunsets? Why make foolish promises? Whoever tires of looking at sunsets is missing out big time. So, for the rest of us who feel inspired and renewed with nature's evening canvas, please carry on, and don't listen to the sceptics who usually end up being boring, feeble minded individuals, always trying to re-invent themselves and taking on a lofty persona. Bring on the sunsets. What makes a great sunset photograph? Giving the viewer a sense of hope and awe at nature's continued
resilience and utter beauty. By the way, wonderful photo Manu.

Manu,
Amazing colors and shapes of the clouds. What makes a great sunset shot? I find that sihouetting something really interesting in the foregound can add a little some extra in order to take full advantage of the amazing colors available for only a short time each day if we're fortunate that day. It could be a building, a person, a single tree, etc. Keep up the good work. Kepp growing!
cheers,
Erik

Hi Manu
I understand your reluctance to post another sunset. As spectacular as they are the shear # produced turn these images into predictable clichés ? Also the scale and spectacular nature of the image is a challenge to photograph effectively ? the final picture, again because of the scale discord is always rather puny compared to the initial experience... But it is that initial hit, that knockout feeling, we insist on capturing. This is such a moment ? a WOW kind of sunset ;-).

As for what makes a great sunset shot? Eric makes a good point ? introducing some element betw. the viewer and the sunset, ideally people, makes for a more engaging image - being twice removed changes the viewer's experience...

Cheers, C.
