About As Steve Biowden will testify, the sky actually wasn't this colour at all when we were over at Birstwith, but a dull kind of grey!

Photoshop to the rescue, put a Hue/Say layer on there and tweaked it till I got a slightly surreal red, then put a grad on the mask from the top of the falls to about 1/4 of the way up the sky to fade the red in.

Quite like the way the water really jumps out at you, though thinking I could have made that a bit redder.... hmmm

I was thinking the water needed a touch of red too Ade, then I read your about. Whatever though, you're still the master at capturing running water. Very powerful image overall.

Hi Den,

here's one with a little bit of red added - just for good measure.

Wasn't that easy cause I'd merged all the darn layers (to save space) so had to use the "rack of't'eye" technique to get the right hue!!

All set for Tuesday? I've got a stinking cold at the mo and severe lack of sleep, but should be OK for then. Are you driving or on the train - just that we've a cracking pub for lunch and it's beer is superb.

There'll be Steve, Damian (he uses FILM!!!), Davinder and myself turning up at some point. before 11. Should be be before 10:30....

See you then - should be a good day, weather permitting!!

Ade

Now that DOES make all the difference Ade. It adds so much to the ambience of the scene.
To answer your question, we shall be driving up. Rich, my mate, and I intend leaving N'pton around 7.30 (BST) so we should arrive at the National Railway Museum around 10-10.30. The idea is to park in the NRM car park. According to the website it is free admission but £6 all day parking so that ain't bad. You'll need some wide angle gear and a tripod. We're hoping to get some real cool shots. Rich's not really a photographer but he has my old Nikon 5700 and he's done fab detail shots of the model loco he's currently building.
Catch ya on Tuesday. Really looking forward to meeting up wiv all you lads.

I wondered what yuou meant by BST.... but the telly just told me that the clocks go forward tonight!!

crikey.... that time of year already?

I'll have everything from 15 to 300mm covered and a tripod + cable release... be knackered carrying them around York all day but what the hell!!

Be good to finally meet up - 6 photographers, they'll wonder what's happened!!

Nice landscape and your PS treatment has made it great! Well done! Larry

Stephen Bowden   {K:64540} 3/30/2005
Excellent work Ade, it completely transforms the view and brings it alive !!

I thought the sky was Green with yellow and orange spots all over ... or was that me falling over on my backside once again ;-)

Super photo :-)

Best wishes,
Steve
