The texture on the maple leaf is exquisite. I suffer from the same thing you have in this shot when you scan the slid in, all that dust in the bottom left of the shot. I have taken to using a small vacuum with a soft brush attachment just before I put the slide in the scanner, any touch up work in PS is greatly reduced. A useful method is the healing tool. Have a go at it if you have that program.
