About 'Addio' to The Holy Father, Ioannes Paulus PP. II, Karol Wojtyla

The Roman Pontiff, as the successor of Peter, 'champion of Human dignity', who plead for Peace has left us this very day.

May 18, 1920 - April 2nd., 2005
Karol Jozef Wojtyla, the second son of a retired army officer and tailor and a school teacher, was born in Wadowice, 35 miles south west of Krakow, in 1920.
As the Pope, Karol engaged in spiritual geopolitics at summit level: he reminded humankind of the worth of individuals in the modern world and wanted Peace to Planet Earth.
He was the first non-italian chosen as Pope in 456 years and the youngest in this century.
Karol shall be missed.

Grande emozione...
Grazie, Padre Santo!

The importance of Pope John II's travels was not simply that he was the most travelled pope in History.
Wojtyla dedicated his pontificate to personally bringing his Message of Faith, Hope and Life to all people of the World.

"The more sand that has escaped from the hourglass
of our Life, the clearer we should see through it."
Pope John Paul II

His interactions with World Leaders had a signifanct impact in History.
The Holy Father welcomed people of all faiths and cultures and affirmed dignity of every Human Life.

"I join you in praying that the real bonds of communion between us may be further strengthened through a spirituality of communion which contemplates "the mystery of the Trinity dwelling in us", and sees "what is positive in others, to welcome it and prize it as a gift from God" (Novo Millennio Ineunte, 43).

With these sentiments, I encourage your efforts to foster mutual understanding and communion between Christians of East and West, and I invoke the blessings of Almighty God upon your deliberations.

this is how Pope John Paul II addressed to the Representatives of the Oriental Orthodox Churches this January 28th.: no wonder Wojtyla became "Man of the Year" few years ago!
