About This is the entrance to a slot parlour (full of Japan's "Pachinko" machines). I thought the 29mm lens would have better depth of focus, but it was late afternoon and even with 800 ISO film I was torn between using a higher shutter speed to cut down camera shake and a lower one to enables a smaller aperture and greater depth of focus.

I think the d.o.f. is just about right, Roger. I like the fact that your eye is kept to the left to enjoy all the reflections in these colourful balloons.
Best regards, Chris

The front focus is great the slight blurry in the background makes you view at the left side balloons. Nice reflection in the ballaoons as well Regards, Rob.

Hi Roger, there are a few things that I find really interesting in this shot. First, the spherical reflection in the balloons, secondly the angle; I think that works much better in creating an captivating image than a more perpendicular angle, and thirdly, the colourful scene. Very nice shot!

Hope you are well, it's been quite a while!

Cheers,

Hugo

Got carried away by your discussion on ratings, so decided to come and look again at your images instead... It's the colours and reflections that caught my eye in this one. And I find it fascinating the way the pattern of the balloons is evident in the background but not in the foreground.
