About Owens Valley/April 05

(Another in my 70 mph series...this time getting fancy schmancy..;)

Effects: It appears as if I used the IR filter, but no. The light was shining in the leaves, and I converted to BW using Channel Mixer, set it to monchrome with 100% in red channel and 0 in green and blue. Then I increased the highlights in levels. There may also have been an adjustment in curves as well. The texture was obtained in PS with the texturizer/sandstone filter.

Hi Toni,
Nice shot, and nicely presented. How did you get the textured look? Is it one of the filter tools?
Andre

Antonia BauerleinSehnert   {K:30194} 4/8/2005
Thanks Andre. I used the texturizer filter (Sandstone) in Photoshop.

Antonia BauerleinSehnert   {K:30194} 4/8/2005
Armando, gracias. Antonia

A beautiful scenery, really worth the effort hanging out the car window @70 mph ;-)
Interesting IR-like effect, puts emphasis on the beautiful early leaves. Nice PS filter effect

Hi Toni,
WOW...you did a great job on this one. I thought for sure it was IR.

Very nice composition, great in black and white, and love the textures you added!!

Lori ;)

Stephen Bowden   {K:64540} 4/9/2005

Hi Antonia,

very cool landscape shot... the BW treatment and the texture effect works pretty well together. spacious framing helps the image to breathe. like especially the bold knots of the tree. looks like a medusa with moving arms.

best wishes and congrats,

Thilo

Glad you like it Trish. I've been away and need to catch up -- how are you?

Cheryl Ogle   {K:24494} 4/18/2005
Ohhh, I missed this while on vacation. I love this Toni. Feels like an old card to me. The texture is done nicely without overdoing it - and the decision to go BW is perfect. Wonderful image.

Nando Mondino   {K:14016} 4/21/2005
Excellent manipulation my dear!

Tony Diana   {K:13396} 4/23/2005
Magnifica, me encanta

Stephen Bowden   {K:64540} 4/30/2005
Lovely photograph Antonia, love the IR effect and texture. I don't know if you noticed but there "appears" to be a young girl in a white dress looking to the left standing under an archway within the trees on the right side of the photograph just below centre ?

I think my imagination is in overdrive ... typical when I look at your photographs lol

Best wishes,

Steve

ps Oh wow I am so far behind in comments lol

Antonia BauerleinSehnert   {K:30194} 4/30/2005
Hi Steve, I see you are making your way through my pics...you don't have to do them all, my friend...I'll understand! It is so difficult to keep up. As for the girl, I've noticed that too! And I've wondered the same thing...whether it is the case or just looks that way. I will need to get out my magnifying glass. It is better with it, so it would be nice if that is the case...just adds something. Did you have a nice time away? Hope so. Hugs. Antonia

Doruk Demircioglu   {K:496} 7/18/2005
Wonderful tones and composition!
I really liked the terrain...

Bill Krul   {K:5724} 11/15/2006
Normally I don't like subjects dead center but this one really works. I think the differet tree lines on either side of the central tree are what make the image dynamic. Nice job.

Antonia BauerleinSehnert   {K:30194} 11/25/2006
Thanks Bill. It has been awhile since I've looked at this one and you reminded me of the nice time had in creating it. Glad you enjoy it.
