About My Grandmother and my #2 developing their relationship :-)

Shot with what I believe to be my best lens - the Nikkor 85/1.4D. Note how smoothly and quickly it goes out of focus. And, by the highlights on the right, how nice its bokeh is specially on these bright areas.

This was my first experience with Kodak's BW400CN. I enjoyed its tones very much and will use it again soon. For sure it lacks the grain of Tri-X but it's convenient (C-41) and almost grainless. I always found color film produced nice B&W images and this dye based BW film does its job very well.

A nice scene in the best PJ tradition. Your comment about the lens is absolutely correct. You apparently use the 85D, an AF lens, manually on your F2A. I usually keep my AF lenses for the D1X and my MF lenses for my F2AS . . . but, maybe I'll try crossing over a little. How does the 85 do for manual focus. Obviously, very well!

Hi Andree,

thanks for the comment, you're right about this film's contrast and its ability to handle difficult light situations. Since it's dye based I believe it has a greater exposure latitude than silver films.
Nice to hear from you. I'm also glad to have touched you with this image. I believe its strenght relies on their relation and the DOF reinforces this. Guess I'm finally getting the rust off my eyes ;-)

Regards,

José Azevedo

Hi Verena,

nice to know you enjoyed this image! Talkin' about B&W, did that Ilford .pdf was of any help? Have you succeed in your search for B&W slides?

Oi Carmem,

andamos meio sumidos daqui, não? O corre-corre anda puxado.

Hi Kiarang,

thanks for the comment. I sure will take a deeper look at your images. On a quick look they seem fascinating and certainly deserve a more careful "exploration".

Really nice shot. Great use of DOF. The film seems to be low contrast and works very well in this difficult lighting condition. Nice moment captured. Regards, Andree

Hi Grant,

when I was about to post this image I really considered placing it on the #46 Henri project because of the interaction between them and also its mood. But I ended up with some kind of doubt so initially opted for another "project".
I'm somehow honored that this image touched you to relate it to one of photography's masters, really. Your coment encouraged me to get back to my original consideration so I'll follow your suggestion. It's now under the Henri project. Thanks for the feedback!

Regards from Brazil,

José Azevedo

Hi John,

thanks for your kind comments, my friend. This generations gap produces some interesting scenes, as you certainly know, after all you've more kids than I :-)
It's always nice to hear from you!

Best regards,

José Azevedo

I've seen that look on my kids' faces more times than I can count and I'm sure they've seen her look on mine. This qualifies as a Henri Cartier-Bresson moment in my book. Good'n!
