Is it Albert or Olivette with this pic and 'first try'? I like the general pic you are trying to photo. Can't say I'm a professional, but I think I can see some things that may possibly help a bit. The thing that was good about 'first try' is that the color of the vase was reflected in the flowers. Although poorly lit, it worked because of the colors involved. The arrangement left some to be desired and it definitely looked like fake flowers. This one is better in that the flowers don't appear so obviously fake. ('Tis a pity they don't have the advantage of the matching colors.) The one other thing that would make the arrangement more pleasing would be to vary the height of the flowers - the straight line across the top is distracting - the eye doesn't know whether to focus on the flowers or the vase. Just my opinion, hope it might help.
