About Near the cottage, a favourite fishing spot, on the Madawaska River. The start of a brand new season and everything looks clean and brand new again. Taken hand held from a small boat. fast shutter speed to compensate for the slow moving boat.

It is easy to see why this is a favorite spot. Gorgeous. Peaceful. Great reflection! Antonia

Oh my, I noticed your comment about the hand-held nature of this photo...you get extra credit for not only the motion, but for the fact that you were balancing in a boat! Well done. Antonia

Toni,

It's not too bad taking photos from a boat, as long as the light conditions are good enough to use a high shutter speed. The "Photographer's Apprentice" was steering the boat, leaving me free to snap away.

Amazing clarity and details Andre, and very beautiful reflections, a favorite spot indeed!

Fadel,
It's a good thing I learned from you and Thilo how to merge the B&W with the colour. It just brings out those rich blacks so nicely.

Beautiful shot, like the contrast between the evergreens and the leafless trees.

Dana,
I think in the early spring, the leaf-less trees add to the cool clean effect. There will be an entirely different mood up there in just a few weeks. It is very rare to have still water on the surface this time of year.

Very effective use of vertical composition Andre. Congrats.

Thanks Richard. I took this one and the ones next to it on that beautiful weekend we had the weekend before last. Still lots of snow up there though. And the lakes were still frozen.

Thanks Jose,
My son and I were just fishing there a couple of days ago! Quite a coincidence that you picked this one out to comment on :)
