About I liked the natural framing of the tunnel which brings emphasis and focus to the beautiful and vibrant colors of the houses.

PS Work: Minor adjustments to the brightness and contrasts.

Antonia BauerleinSehnert   {K:30021} 4/22/2005
Yes -- I agree whole-heartedly, great natural framing and vibrant colors. The cloud formation against the deep blue of the sky is just perfect. Also, it's a good thing that the curve of the tunnel isn't perfectly symmetrical -- the imbalance gives this a more natural feel than it would otherwise. The composition in the buildings provides lots of interesting shapes and angles -- a feast for the eyes and a very enjoyable image. Antonia

waleed montasser   {K:2560} 4/22/2005

Orazio

Roger Williams   {K:82679} 4/22/2005
Beautiful shot, Paul, although the vibrancy is a little "over the top" for my taste. I sense a rather heavy hand on the old saturation slider. Just a minor niggle, though. Very beautiful, as I said, and a great title! You've actually got most if not all of the rainbow colours in the shot, haven't you! Well done...

arwa abdullah   {K:34425} 4/22/2005

cityscapes on mountains or hills always amazed me! This one is one of the best! theres a nice latino feel about the sizes of the houses and their colors
Excellent composition and close up to show the tension and crowdedness of this neighborhood :)

Great shot, Paul - the framing is very effective! I love the brightly colored houses - it really shows a certain joy for life that transcends these people's modest means. Did you see any mummies? :)

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 4/22/2005
Hey Paul,

yeah, the natural framing is really special here. and the booombastic colors, too =)

I know you're not the framemaker guy. this time, my guess is that the base area would get a better support against the white background when packing a light frame around it.

best wishes,

thilo

Paul's Photos   {K:34954} 4/22/2005
Thanks Roger.. actually I did not use any saturation... but, because I shot it from a dark area I did adjust the brightness which meant I had to readjust the contrast a bit. But these colors are pretty much that bright, esp in sunshine. The colors are what caught my eye initially...

Paul's Photos   {K:34954} 4/22/2005
Thanks Dirck.. did not see any mummies this time :) I agree about the people and their love of life...

Lex Bronkhorst   {K:14152} 5/7/2005
I agree with the natural frame, it let's something happen on the foreground, something to look at, but something that don;t distract you from looking at the main subject, the houses. The eye is led into the picture becose of it, that is really nice about this picture! Excellent!

Greets,
Lex.
